CMPS03

Hello,

We have 2 CMPS03 compass modules version 11 and version 16. But they both only give an angle form 300 to 330 degrees even outside with no extra elektronics (just laptop and a I2C-USB converter).

What could be de problem ?

I have tried factory restore but no affect.

Is there a posibilty to reprogram the 18F2321 ?

This is either because the calibration has been done unsuccessfully or there are ferrous/magnetic material near the compass (possibly the laptop). You should be able to restore factory calibration on the v16, but not on v11.

I'm not sure why you feel the 18F2321 needs re-flashing, but this will almost certainly not be the problem.

I held the compass a meter from the laptop, restoring factory did not help. even recalibrating by hand does not help

I held the compass a meter away from my laptop so that couldn't be the problem.

Also tried factory restore with the USB-I2C onconverter but that didn't help. And also calibrate by pin 6 but no effect.

It sounds like a calibration issue. Can you post the section of code where you restore the factory settings? Did you ever get correct readings?

I use the USB-I2C converter to calibrate the compass. I send the unlock codes, and then F2 to register 15. And then after i read all register the unlock codes are gone.
